In 1990, my wife and I chose the City of Mission Viejo as the place to live and raise our children. Little did I know 28 years later, how honored and humbled I would be to serve as your Mayor in this great city.
Accomplishments we achieved in my first term include:
- Founding Secure OC Schools to eliminate security gaps in our schools and protect our children.
- Managing balanced budgets and securing $25 million in City reserves.
Establishing an accelerated reduction of our City’s unfunded pension liability. - Prioritizing public safety services that reduce crime and increase defensible spaces from wildfires.
Ed is a very involved community member, he is the Chairman for the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Board of Directors. He also serves on the Housing Ad Hoc Committee, and the Standing Economic Development Ad Hoc Committee. In addition, he works on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency and is the Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency. Ed recently became President of the Orange County League of California Cities Chapter.
Ed is married to Leagh Sachs, an award-winning photographer whose work has been shown at the Orange County Fair and a San Juan Capistrano Gallery. The Sachs family includes two adult children, David and Daniel, and Charles the bird. David and Daniel both grew up in Mission Viejo participating in soccer, martial arts, high school football and hockey before attending college. David has taken a focus on the arts as a prominent photographer and Daniel is now serving as a proud U.S Airmen.
We have more work to do, and I ask for your continued support.
I would be honored to earn your vote.
